Let’s Make Their New Year Brighter

Every September, I raise funds to support children who struggle to afford basic educational needs. This year, we’re taking it further by supporting Zewditu Orphanage Center, which I had the chance to visit a few months ago.

They’re well cared for, but holidays are still difficult. especially when it comes to making the kids feel happy and celebrated.

I forgot who asked (my apologies), but a question on the difference between a cult & a religion really stuck with me. Best answer I could find

A sect is a religious group with high tension with surrounding society, but traditional beliefs; a cult is a religious group with high tension with surrounding society, but novel beliefs; a church is a religious group with low tension with the surrounding society, but which doesn't dominate it; an ecclesia is a religious group which dominates its society (such as a state religion). Ive been lucky enough to work on really challenging problems, shows you the gaps in AI coding. I've also listened to the advice of not to outsource your thinking to AI. The more you exercise critical thinking, the more of you see it as a tool. Not to say I'm better at coding now but I can see behind the snake oil. Plus revaluation of where I am and where I need to be to stay relevant has helped me sober up a bit

If your piece of writing or opinion relies on "No offense", "Not to sound racist", "Not trying to make it personal", etc. being prefaced to be palatable for your audience, you should probably take a second and reframe the thought. Take a step back, try and weed out the offensive sections to get to something objective and factual or a clear statement of opinion that makes no attempt to push itself as true. You're also likely to find the opinion itself comes from the wrong approach or overgeneralized experiences, and one you shouldn't have.
