A special session of the International Media Festival “Islamic Civilization: New Horizons, New Discoveries” was held at New Uzbekistan University on August 26.

The session brought together students and international media professionals for an engaging conversation on global media, diplomacy, storytelling, and cultural heritage.

🌏Our Students’ International Experiences

Our students continue to participate in international educational programs, gaining new knowledge, exploring different cultures, and connecting with peers from around the world.
Recently, our students took part in the Playshop for Language and Cultural Exchange (PLACE) program at HKUST(GZ). The two-week summer program offered participants an opportunity to experience a new culture, exchange ideas, and build international connections.

📌Among the participants was Mohina Rustamova, a 2nd-year student of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, who shared her impressions of the program:

“The Playshop for Language and Cultural Exchange (PLACE) program by HKUST GZ was a remarkable summer experience. During the two weeks, I was able to fully immerse myself in a culture I admire. Everyone there was so hospitable and kind, and I was able to make lifelong connections with people from all around the world. Although I was the only participant from Uzbekistan, I always felt appreciated and included.”

Mohina also highlighted the Design Thinking Bootcamp organized by Red Bird MPhil as one of the key highlights of her exchange:

“There, I learned how to identify ‘pain points’ in real-life problems and bridge the gap between an idea and its successful implementation. RBM's vision for the future, and the vision of the Future of Technology College, closely matched my own, which made the experience even more meaningful.”

📣HOGWARTS RESEARCH SCHOOL — OFFICIALLY COMPLETED!

On August 13, Hogwarts Research School officially came to an end with a closing ceremony at New Uzbekistan University.

Throughout the program, participants explored research, academic growth, leadership, and teamwork while developing their own projects and ideas.

📌The closing ceremony featured:
🏰 Recognition of participants from all four Houses — Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw, and Hufflepuff;
📜Certificates of completion and special project recognition;
🎤 Remarks from university leadership celebrating students’ dedication to research, personal development, and leadership;

Important Dates:

First Day of Classes: September 14, 2026

Midterm Week: November 2–6, 2026

Final Week: January 11–15, 2027


Due to the increasing number of students, the pre-registration and schedule registration processes will be managed by the Registrar’s Office. Therefore, you will be provided with a default schedule rather than selecting your classes individually.

If you need to retake any courses, you will be able to submit your retake requests during the Add/Drop period. The Registrar’s Office will make every effort to accommodate retake courses within your schedule.

Further information regarding pre-registration, Add/Drop, retake registration, and any necessary schedule adjustments will be communicated to you separately.

On August 7, the Hogwarts School Camp, organized by New Uzbekistan University, officially began in the mountain area near Charvak.

The first day was dedicated to building team spirit and creating a positive environment for participants. Students took part in team-building activities, fun games, Zakovat, as well as football and volleyball competitions.

The Registrar’s Office would like to inform you about the International Computer Science Competition (ICSC) 2026, an international educational competition designed for students interested in mathematics, programming, algorithms, and computer science.

As noted by the organizers, students with strong mathematical reasoning skills often perform exceptionally well in computer science and algorithmic problem-solving. The competition may therefore be of particular interest to students from mathematics, computer science, engineering, and related fields.

Competition: International Computer Science Competition (ICSC)
Deadline: Sunday, July 5, 2026
Eligibility: Middle School, High School, and University Students
Format: Three-round international competition program

The Qualification Round consists of five take-home problems combining conceptual reasoning and programming tasks. Successful participants advance to further rounds, including a supervised examination and an internationally monitored final round conducted online.
All participants receive certificates, while top-performing students may receive international and national awards totaling more than USD 1,500.

📌Visits to Student Dormitories and Rental Apartments Organized at New Uzbekistan University

In order to study the living conditions created for students and provide them with practical support, visits to student dormitories and rental apartments were organized under the leadership of the university administration and with the participation of tutors.

❗️During the visits, individual conversations were held with students to assess their living conditions, sanitary and hygiene standards, compliance with safety regulations, academic engagement, as well as to identify existing issues and suggestions.

In addition, motivational and psychological discussions were organized with students on topics such as exam preparation, effective time management, stress management, and maintaining emotional well-being.
